Workshop One Objectives

The objectives of Workshop 1 are to:

1. Compare three kinds of managerial skill, and explain why mangers are divided into different department to perform their tasks more efficiently and effectively.

2. Identify some major aspects of management that are occurring as a result of globalization and the use of advanced information technology.

3. Recognize changes in motivating and controlling  employees

4. Explain why the study of the external environment and its impact on an organization has become a central issue in management.

5. Identify the difference between Theory X and Theory Y management assumptions

6. Describe the various personality traits that affect how managers think, feel and behave

4. Review of managerial skill sets and organizational hierarchy

5. Class discussion of technology and globalization

6. Class debate: Theory X or Theory Y

7. Class discussion of management personality traits
